About JK Carpets

JK Carpets was founded in 1985 by John and Pam Kulick in Locust Grove, VA. John started in the flooring industry as a young teenager, learning the trade through his father, and continued as a flooring installer before deciding to start his own business. His wife, Pam, had an accounting background and naturally took responsibility of the bookkeeping and ordering, while John provided estimates, scheduled installations, and completed jobs along with other JK Carpets installers.

They started out with a small showroom and office, with a separate rented storage space as their warehouse, just outside of Lake of the Woods. As their business grew, so did their need for space, and in 1996, JK Carpets built their current building, on Germanna Highway, that houses their showroom, offices, and a 5,000 square foot warehouse.

JK Carpets started as a family business and remains that way to this day. John and Pam are actively involved in the business as well as their son, Kent, who is a part of the management team. Their goal is to ensure that everyone who walks through the door feels like family. They take pride in the fact that the majority of their business is repeat customers and referrals. Through the years they’ve formed quality long term relationships with manufacturers and flooring providers, including J.J. Haines, which awarded them Retailer of the Year in 2014.

In their newly renovated showroom is where you will meet Michelle, their passionate and informative floor covering specialist. With 20 years of flooring experience, she will guide you through your flooring decisions.

The Kulick’s have lived and worked in the Fredericksburg area for over 40 years and are actively involved in the community. They are members of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and Salem Fields Community Church.
